Product Overview
The 260W Split-Type Remote Fixed-Point Laser Igniter is a high-power 915nm infrared laser system designed for controlled teaching, R&D, laboratory testing and experimental applications.
The system combines a 260W optical output with a coaxial green aiming light, split-type configuration, Samsung 50S battery pack, three-stage activation controls, over-temperature protection and tripod-compatible mounting.
Its split design allows the laser head to be positioned separately from the power unit using the supplied extension cable, providing greater flexibility for fixed-point experimental setups. 15X and 50X focus lens configurations are available to accommodate different focusing and testing requirements.
Key Features
-
260W Optical Power Output
High-power 915nm laser source designed for controlled thermal, ignition and material-interaction experiments. -
915nm Infrared Wavelength
The primary laser beam is infrared and invisible to the human eye, requiring appropriate laser-safety precautions during setup and operation. -
Coaxial Green Aiming Light
An integrated green aiming beam assists with target alignment and focusing. Some aiming deviation or light dispersion may occur over longer distances. -
Split-Type Configuration
The laser head and power unit can be separated using the supplied 60 cm connection cable, allowing more flexible positioning during fixed-point experiments. -
15X & 50X Focus Lens Options
Available with a 15X focus lens, 50X focus lens, or both lenses, allowing the system to be configured for different experimental distances and focusing requirements. -
45°C Over-Temperature Protection
The system automatically interrupts laser output when the internal operating temperature reaches approximately 45°C, helping protect the equipment from overheating. -
Samsung 50S 5000mAh Battery Pack
Uses an 8-series Samsung 50S lithium-ion battery configuration with an XT60 connector. Full-charge voltage is 33.6V. Laser performance may decrease when battery voltage falls below approximately 29V. -
Three-Stage Activation Control
The system incorporates three separate control elements:- Physical push-button switch on the main unit
- Wireless remote-control trigger
- Master key-lock switch
These controls help reduce the possibility of unintended activation when the equipment is handled and operated correctly.
-
Tripod-Compatible Mounting
Universal mounting interface compatible with 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch tripod connections, allowing the laser head to be securely positioned for controlled fixed-point operation.
15X & 50X Focus Lens Configurations
Three configurations are available:
With 15X Focus Lens
Includes the system with one 15X focus lens.
With 50X Focus Lens
Includes the system with one 50X focus lens.
With 15X + 50X Focus Lenses
Includes both focus lenses for greater flexibility across different experimental setups.
Accurate focusing becomes increasingly important as the target distance increases. Actual results depend on the selected lens, target material, focal adjustment, mounting stability, atmospheric conditions and other environmental factors.
Focusing & Setup Guidelines
For controlled experimental setup, the following distances may be used as initial focusing references:
- Without additional focus lens: approximately 1–2 meters
- Smaller focus-lens configuration: begin at approximately 1–2 meters
- Larger focus-lens configuration: begin at approximately 2–3 meters
These distances are setup references rather than guaranteed operating ranges.
For longer-distance experimental testing:
- Securely mount the laser head on a stable tripod or support.
- Carefully adjust the focus while following appropriate laser-safety procedures.
- Ensure the test area and target can be safely observed and controlled.
- Keep unauthorized persons outside the controlled laser area.
Controlled Demonstration Results
During controlled testing, the system demonstrated thermal effects on selected target materials at extended distances.
Observed demonstrations included:
- Thermal penetration of a thin metal beverage can at approximately 20 meters
- Ignition of dark-colored cardboard at approximately 50–55 meters using the appropriate long-distance focusing configuration
Important: These figures represent observed demonstration results under particular test conditions and are not guaranteed operating distances.
Performance can vary substantially depending on:
- Focus-lens configuration
- Focal adjustment
- Target color and material
- Target surface characteristics
- Tripod and mounting stability
- Atmospheric and environmental conditions
- Battery voltage
- Operator setup
External Power Supply
If operating the system with a compatible user-supplied external power source rather than the supplied battery system, the recommended power specification is:
33.6V DC, 20A or higher
The external power source must be correctly rated and connected for the system.

Important Laser Safety Warning
This is an extremely high-power infrared laser system. The 915nm primary beam is invisible to the human eye and can cause severe eye injury, skin injury, fire or property damage.
- Intended for trained and experienced adult users only.
- Use only within an appropriately controlled laser area.
- Wear appropriate laser protective eyewear specifically rated for the wavelength and exposure involved.
- Never direct the laser toward people, animals, vehicles, aircraft or uncontrolled areas.
- Never look into the laser aperture or beam path.
- Avoid mirrors, polished metal, glass and other reflective surfaces that may create hazardous reflections.
- Establish an appropriate beam stop and controlled target area before operation.
- Keep the equipment secured and inaccessible to children and unauthorized users.
- Do not operate outdoors where the beam or reflections could leave the controlled area or present an aviation/public-safety hazard.
- Users are responsible for complying with applicable laser-safety requirements, laws and regulations in their jurisdiction.
