Specifications are based on supplier-provided information. Actual optical performance and lifetime depend on operating conditions and integration.
Fixed-Focus Infrared Dot
The laser features a factory-set fixed-focus optical assembly designed to produce a projected infrared spot.
The projected spot may appear elliptical, and its size depends on the working distance.
Important: The focus is not user-adjustable. If a specific spot size or working distance is required, please contact us before ordering to discuss customized factory focusing.
The supplier specifies a nominal indoor projection range of less than 200 meters under suitable detection conditions. Actual detectable distance varies with the target, infrared detector sensitivity, alignment, and environmental light.
Applications
Infrared Optical Sensing
Suitable for integration with compatible infrared cameras, optical detectors, and sensing systems that support the 850nm wavelength.
Compact Equipment Integration
Its miniature size makes it suitable for space-constrained equipment, custom electronic assemblies, and OEM systems.
Laboratory and Optical Experiments
Can be used as an infrared light source for controlled optical demonstrations, component testing, and compatible laboratory setups.
Machine Positioning and Alignment
May serve as an infrared reference point in alignment systems equipped with suitable IR-sensitive detection equipment.
Research and Development
Suitable for engineering prototypes, optical research, and other compatible non-medical development applications.
Electrical Connection and Installation
The standard module includes approximately 150mm of red and black connecting wires.
-
Red Wire (+): Positive DC power
-
Black Wire (-): Negative / Ground
-
Input Voltage: 2.8–5.2V DC
Installation Notes:
-
Use a regulated DC power supply within the specified voltage range.
-
Confirm wire polarity before applying power.
-
Never connect the module directly to an AC power source.
-
Avoid exceeding the maximum input voltage.
-
Provide adequate mounting and heat management for the application.
-
Use an appropriate infrared detector when checking output or alignment.
OEM and Customization Options
For equipment manufacturers and engineering projects, the supplier may offer customized configurations, including:
-
Custom cable lengths
-
Alternative connector types
-
DC female connector
-
Insulated wiring
-

-
Custom module dimensions (subject to feasibility)
Please contact Lilly Electronics with your requirements before ordering customized products.
Laser Safety Information
Warning: Invisible Infrared Laser Radiation
850nm infrared laser radiation is largely invisible to the human eye. The absence of a visible beam does not mean the laser is safe.
-
Never look directly into the laser aperture or beam.
-
Never use the naked eye to check whether the laser is operating.
-
Avoid direct exposure and specular reflections.
-
Use appropriate laser safety eyewear rated for 850nm and the expected exposure conditions.
-
Operate only in a controlled environment with suitable beam containment.
-
Keep away from children and unauthorized users.
-
Do not direct the laser toward people, vehicles, or aircraft.
Laser classification depends on the actual accessible emission and finished-product configuration. Appropriate safety precautions are required for both power options.
